North East Spain
One of the best parts of visiting the north east of Spain is driving up or down the Costa Brava, Spain’s wild coast. The Mediterranean Coastline is rugged and wild sporting craggy cliffs, grottoes, half-moon bays and golden sand to pebble beaches.
Costa Brava is part of greater Catalonia where Barcelona reigns with Girona following close behind. There are brilliant vineyards centred on Barcelona and Reus and enough attractions to occupy a week of fun. Further north catch the French Influence near the border and get to know the art of Dali and Gaudi better.
Aragon borders France and is home the Pyrenees Mountains and glacial lakes that make for such a vibrant and breathtaking landscape.
Navarra is characterised by its ancient wealth and is long scarred for its location between France, Basque and Aragon, a land of much territory and religious dispute.
Its place on the great pilgrimage road to Santiago de Compostela only enhances it as a place to see. Finally La Rioja (not Ri-o-ka) is hailed as one of Spain’s most prised wine regions.
